STCW mandates that all Able Seafarers demonstrate competency in Survival Craft operations. This course solves the problem for mariners working on vessels without lifeboats. This is an excellent course for Tug boat crews, inland water workers, ferry workers, fishing vessels, or any vessel carrying Survival Craft other than a fiberglass motor enclosed lifeboat.
This course does satisfy the training requirement for lifeboatman limited and if you have taken a STCW Basic Training course it satisfies the training requirement for PSC on any tonnage of vessel on any waters. For more information look at NVIC 01-24

Operate Life-Saving Appliances and take charge of a Survival Craft or Rescue Boat during or after launch
