People seeking a new career are invited to join us for a 2-hour introductory seminar, Getting Started in Maritime Careers.
THE PROGRAM
Maritime career options and pathways including ferries, cargo ships, cruise ships, tugs, research vessels, and dredges.
Skills expected of mariners, such as vessel familiarity, vessel operations and maintenance, water survival skills, firefighting basics, galley, and describe the expected benefits and compensation in the industry.
Review the training requirements and certifications needed to obtain positions for maritime work. And present training resources available in the region for you to gain your Merchant Mariner Credential. Most importantly, you will meet and hear from recruiters and representatives from a variety of maritime companies in our region actively seeking new mariners.

Where is it: at Seafarers Worldwide in Anacortes WA.
When is it: 5:30-7:30pm Thursday, Sept. 29th.
Getting there and away: WSF schedules a 3:40pm departure to Anacortes, returning via WSF 8:20pm sailing. Seating is limited but you may attend the session in person or by Zoom.
Eligibility: Everyone who is 18 years old or older and considering maritime careers.
